decisions, decisions
ahh, the point in most relationships when it becomes more comfortable to just stay in and chill than to go out and hit the town (which usually involves a whole lot of get-ready time and perhaps some pre-planning to find the hot spots). for most, i would think that’s the holy grail in a relationship, when you’ve made that far and you don’t have to go out as much to have a good time with one another. then again, others could argue where’s the excitement, the something new to spice up life! i guess my only point here is that everybody differs in their levels of going-out but it’s hard to gauge early in a relationship. it’s only long term into the relationship do we know what we want.
i think use of the black silhouette panel and the no text last panel made this strip more eventful. otherwise, i could see how this strip could be boring visually. that’s actually been my struggle lately. ever since taking Watterson’s advice on letting the characters flesh out it’s own story per the situation, i think the stories i’ve got coming up are better. but it’s the art and how to tell it visually interesting without throwing in too much extra fluff which ruins the rhythm of the story.
I like the subject matter, it’s happened to me A LOT. As far as the visual, maybe try a profile shot viewing out a window or against a different wall, maybe into the kitchen, to change up the landscape.
I do think it’s a good point. It’s harder sometimes to peck up the energy to go out and do something, especially in this economy when movies alone cost $20. But, it’s also nice to have a date night. Something you single people wouldn’t appreciate just yet…
That is how ruts get started…but you are young – just don’t dig it so deep.
