i read this article a long time ago and the topic was basically how it’s NOT best for the relationship to tell each other everything. it resonated with me because i feel like society tells us that we should tell our partners everything there is about us. don’t get me wrong here, i should feel comfortable enough to tell her anything – but it doesn’t mean i should tell her everything. obviously there are important facts about oneself we should disclose because they define us. but i don’t feel like every thought, every dream, every doubt should be aired for a conversation. sometimes keeping it to yourself is better for the relationship. plus you get a mysterious factor cred!
ok, i’m coming across a problem with my art that i haven’t bothered to rectify for years now. when i’m in photoshop and i use a paint bucket fill to color in, say elle’s hair, i get this very faint white around the edges. it’s as if the paint bucket didn’t reach the edge. so i do two things to help mitigate, (1) expand the magic wand selection to encompass the line ink, and (2) turn the line ink layer into multiple blend. still, no good. so, if you have the answer, help please!
Have you tweaked your tolerance? I don’t mean your patience for Photoshop 🙂 When you select an area to fill, you click on a pixel, but tolerance determines how similar in color the other pixels around it must be for them to get filled too. Lower numbered tolerance fills pixels within a smaller range of color values, more similar to the pixel you selected. Higher numbered tolerance fills pixels within a broader range of color values. It goes from 0 to the 200’s that you can play with. Anti-aliased smoothes the edges of the filled selection. I’m not at all a Photoshop expert, and don’t use it as much as I should. So, if these tips don’t work for you, I know someone who has done incredible digital paintings. She might be able to help 🙂
I found that increasing the tolerance or threshold to the point that it gets rid of all the white makes the lines look too digital. The only real way to get rid of the white completely is to flat the picture. Once you have your inks all cleaned up create a new layer and set the layer to multiply. This will allow you to draw under the lines. Do all your coloring on the new, “multiply”, layer with the pencil tool. Make sure that adjacent colors meet under your lines. Doing it this way takes a lot longer at first but it is well worth it.

Its a little less technical, but if the area youre trying to fill is transparent, rather than white, you’ll never have an issue
