30 minute morning sketch!

by finnjohnny

honestly, i can’t tell if i should be scared of you yet.  sure, you’re big and tough, but with a nickname of “The Hound,” i can’t help but think of the cute Disney dog character.  from HBO’s Game of Thrones, this is Sandor Clegane.  well, here you are, all cute and cuddly.

Copic multiliner 0.1 for the face and hashmarks, 0.5 for the rest.

i so did not do enough justice to that smug smirk and squint by Ser Jaime Lannister, of HBO’s Game of Thrones.  i don’t know he does it with those tiny eyes that makes his smile smolder.  but then again, your sister, really?!

this morning’s sketch didn’t impress me very much, but it’s been awhile since being sick all last week.  done with rough thick pencils then Copics multiliner 0.1, 0.5, and sketch marker.

ah, that smirk!  it wouldn’t be Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish if he’s not smirking somehow.  just watched episode 4 of HBO’s Game of Thrones and it’s continuing to be great!  Copic 0.1 multiliner for the face and shadings with Copic 0.5 for the clothing and outlines.  i even did some background tree stuff but i don’t think it turned out too well.

i am NOT cute.  that’s what Arya Stark of HBO’s Game of Thrones would say.  really like this pose cause i think it def conveys what that character is like for me.  and that tiny knife!  use of Copic 0.1 multiliner for the face and shading details and 0.5 for the rest, with very rough pencils to get the overall proportions.

oh man, ran out of time this morning to post this, but here it is finally!  Jon Snow, the black sheep of the Stark family, and all his moodiness.  i feel like if he was in our world, he’d be listening to Dashboard Confessional all day in his iPod.  pretty happy with this one, utilizing the Copic 0.1 and 0.5 again, with Copic sketch for the fur coat.

i’ve been wanting to challenge myself to not just draw what i see, but turn it into a more interesting comic book-esque drawing.  not sure how far i’ll go with that personal challenge now that i like this string of Game of Thrones sketches though.
