<\/a><\/p>\nnext we move on to some 5 minutes sketches.\u00a0 part of my goal for this sessions was to use more blacks, more shading.\u00a0 really try to make the sketch more dramatic.<\/p>\n
and onward to the 10 minute sketches!\u00a0 doesn’t look like much below but\u00a0 did a rough pencil sketch first, and inked it over to get a better proportion in the drawing.<\/p>\n below, i decided to go entirely with an old school pencil with a somewhat dull tip.\u00a0 what a change going from the unforgiving black ink to pencil where pressure shading is so easy!\u00a0 and yes, she’s holding a Ghostbuster gun!<\/p>\n the contest theme for tonight was to incorporate killer appliances into the sketch.\u00a0 first off, i had grand plans for this one!\u00a0 i’m talking fridges, stoves, dishwashers, dryers, everything!\u00a0 but with only 15 minutes to work with, i did a rough pencil sketch, and went quickly to inks.\u00a0 but in the end, all i could muster was a lil toaster!\u00a0 this picture earned me runner-up for the night!<\/p>\n and finally, we close out the night with 2 – 10 minute sketches.\u00a0 for this one, i intentionally did not make it pretty.\u00a0 i wanted to draw every line i saw on the guy.\u00a0 every shadow, every feature.\u00a0 it’s a bit of re-training the eyes to see what’s really there, not what i expect to be there.\u00a0 quite liberating.<\/p>\n pretty happy with the last one as i decided to fill in that black shadow box and use white-out to draw in those eyes!<\/p>\n<\/a><\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
